One way to thrive not just survive in hospitality and academia...

 Be an ostrich.

Hospitality is in trouble!

Academia is in trouble!

If you are a hospitality academic...all you hear is double trouble! How to thrive in all this noise?

Be an ostrich!

No, don't bury your head in the sand. You should know better; you can research and dispel myths.

Ostriches burying their head is a century-old myth, born from the optical illusion when ostriches tend their nests.

An ostrich is powerful.

It stands its ground when it has to, fights back when necessary, and can run like the wind when that's the smarter move.

Be an ostrich.

I am becoming an ostrich...

and sometimes an octopus...

depends on the day...

I have no choice...

I refuse to just survive!

I wish to thrive!
