I began my career at my godfather's restaurant on the island of Leros. From washing dishes to great responsibilities in London Hotels and life in Academia I do not regret a single second and do not forget who I am. When I hear parents or career advisors tell their kids to study hard or they will end up a waiter they do not know that most PhDs supplement their income working in #hospitality and #tourism We learned valuable lessons of psychology there and each one whether studied hospitality or tourism or other subjects but ended in hospitality, we gained transferable skills beyond our wildest dreams. Most of us never forget where we began and where we belong. These little videos are part of a bigger story, I hope they will inspire other kids to not listen to the naysayers and do what they want and what their heart tells them. I was one of the lucky ones. My parents supported every crazy decision I ever made even if that made me a modern-day Ulysess jumping from one island to the next.
