Belfast street art - dedicated to the Artists that chose to make Belfast an open-air art gallery.

(Disclaimer! Consider playing on mute! No fault of mine if you let me torture you with my singing).

This is somewhat different to my usual content but I have been so impressed by the street art and graffiti in Belfast city and the tour given by Wee Nuls a local artist who works for the charity seedheadarts that I felt I ought to do a little video about my experience. The way street art has evolved reminded me of the Irish song Wild Rover (how street artists are now embraced and supported with a street art festival every May) and I felt like giving it a go with my lowly musical efforts. So armed with my Ukulele in the first part
0:01 the video I deliver my version of the wild rover. Whilst the second part 0:57 has baglama music (Greek tiny Bouzouki, which sounds a bit like a mandolin). This is a composition which I wrote for this video. I wanted something different and eerie to go with the way I imagined the fear and adrenaline of the artists of older times trying to deliver their art in fear of getting caught... and although it's nowhere near perfect... it has to be good enough for my lowly self-taught musician skills. Sometimes it's good to walk a different path. Thank you Wee Nuls for the lessons of tenacity in following your heart and defending a just cause! For an interesting story about Weenuls art getting destroyed 3 days after she made it see: https://tinyurl.com/5y6ytw7d talking about true tenacity and bouncing back from disaster!
