Another Day in the Life of an Academic! (Belfast Abridged Edition)

Another Day in the Life of an Academic is my second attempt to capture a little of my working life. This time in Gorgeous Belfast! And at Ulster University Heads up to Titanic Belfast early on in the video. Featuring parts of the dept… the academy and more. It doesn’t matter if you are invigilating or having boring meetings or exciting teaching or amazing commercial moments… what matters is that you try to make the most of it each day because folks that’s all we have! THE PRESENT! All else is an illusion. Although I am glad I lived far enough into the future to be able to edit this video :D Eight years ago I created the video "A Day in the Life of an Academic" (you can find it on this Youtube channel) I have no idea where the years went but it was time I created another video. As Sunny and Beautiful as Eastbourne is, Belfast matches it in magic and rain ... but luck would have it (or planning) that on the very day I was going to document my day the Sun came out to play. Hope you enjoy a little bit of my madness. To younger Academics, I say this: have no fear I work crazy hours because I chose to, no one forces me. To me Life and Work are part of the same continuum so I do not seek a work-life balance as others understand it. I seek happiness and focus in everything I do be it learning time, family time, work time, teaching time or ukulele time :)
