Racism in Hospitality?

I admit I held back posting this until after national hospitality day passed. I celebrate hospitality as a way of thinking and a way of life so when bad things happen I have to speak up! Racism or ethnic profiling does not belong in any culture and any service environment that should be promoting true hospitality! Still, I attempt to reflect and gain lessons that students can utilise such as What is the hospitality spirit can we still see great service in toxic environments? (yes we can) and Lessons for self-branding.

Go to the video on YouTube https://youtu.be/cDzgjteZ7cE and Post in the comments below that video. Say what you think, Was this an experience of Race profiling in hospitality? or was it a case of Ioannis not looking wealthy enough? I felt that there was definitely a case of some form of discrimination or other because I certainly felt it. Now as you realised I did not name the Country or the Gym or the Individual because that is not important. What is important is that the purpose of the video is for us to learn something about how we are perceived by others, how we should NOT perceive others, what is true hospitality and how we can make this world a better place for as many people as possible and how to achieve what you want to achieve with the least resistance possible from the world go. If you are short of time and want my quick answer from this experience? Dress the part... more often than I would like you can't change the environment but you can manipulate their unconscious bias!
