A few days ago I had a little adventure, now don't you worry about me everything is fine and under control...no Greeks were harmed in the making of this video as I far too often say :)
But! it made me remember a little thought I had when my Mother migrated to heaven a few years ago. She was amazing but she always lived for us and others rarely for her and perhaps this was what gave her true happiness I do not know but I always wish she would listen to my advice as I listened to hers. Anyway in the hope that I am a better version of my parents and my kids a better version of me I try to find happiness in both working and leisure time. In this case, I tried to find happiness and laughter even in the spaces of the NHS.
I had a laugh with Paula the Sister, I heard true wisdom from Sarah the Nurse, and was in awe by the professionalism of the Health Carers Louis and Peter, and the Doctors Laura and Sheelshree. A big thank you to those and the many heroes of the NHS.
No matter how much our talentless politicians try to harm the NHS with cuts so that they can supplement their fat salaries, the NHS staff somehow manage to deliver a service beyond expectations.
But back to this episode of Walk in the Woods with Wolfie and I. We philosophise about Life! Now, Wolfie believes life is like chasing squirrels. The squirrel thinks life is like squirrels because it runs away from us so fast, so Wolfie agreed with him because for years he has been trying to catch a squirrel and he always fails :D so I guess life is the never-ending chase of happiness. If wolfie was ever to catch a squirrel I do not think he would be as happy as attempting the chase.
I think life is about the little moments that can happen anywhere, at work, at home even at a hospital. Those moments we share with our loved ones or even with complete strangers, that happen to share minutes of their life with yours.
Smile in those moments and know that you are alive, because as I like to say....everyone gets a Life but not everyone gets to be alive!
