Lessons from a year of Gardening!

Sometimes we take our blessings for granted. As I get older I try to appreciate what is always there, people, places, nature! My Garden, One picture per week! October 2020 to November 2021. This is (in my mind at least) a physical representation of my philosophy for patience, the beauty of nature, harmonious co-existence and sustainability.

During the summer of the pandemic, my family and I spent so much time in our garden! Unable to travel I invested all my free energy in wrapping up all the little projects that I had never managed to finish before. I slowly transformed our garden and, in that process, I began falling more and more in love with this blessed space. By October 2020 I had completed 90% of all that I wanted to achieve in our garden. Having tested my DIY (do it Yanni) skills to the extreme it was time to enjoy the results so I began taking one photo a week from our loft window.

At the back left, you can see my fully recycled/upcycled materials (all glass saved from skips) dug in -low profile greenhouse and at the right my fully recycled/upcycled Shed (made out of pallets and reused wood saved from skips).

The lessons I learned in the process of redesigning our garden:
1. Always count your blessings
2. Do not take anything for granted.
3. You can do anything you put your mind to in life (just take your time) don’t let anyone tell you otherwise especially yourself! #diy #practicalphilosophy #garden

PS. Can you spot wolfie? Also for 5 or 6 weeks, there was more than one photo (for example the snow is a rare occasion so I had to take 3 over one week) hence the total of 60 rather than 52 photos. Photos were taken Saturday or Sunday morning with the exception of the one odd early evening to show the change of light. In hindsight, I should have added a night one...
